About JJFN

It’s time for a more honest conversation about your health.

You might have been told your labs are “normal,” yet you’re still navigating persistent fatigue, digestive issues, or a metabolism that feels like it’s stalled. When your body feels this out of sync, it’s common to find yourself fighting an uphill battle with “willpower”- or maybe even reaching for food when you’re stressed, bored, or overwhelmed.

If this sounds familiar, I want you to hear this clearly: This isn’t a lack of discipline- it’s a physiological response.

As a Certified Nutrition Specialist® and Clinical Herbalist, I look at the “why” behind these experiences. I’ve found that whether the primary concern is weight gain, hormonal shifts, or mindless eating, the root cause is often the same: an overtaxed nervous system, an out-of-balance gut microbiome, or blood sugar on a roller coaster.

I don’t just look at your symptoms in isolation- I look at how your biology is communicating its need for support.

My Clinical Approach

I don’t believe in “one-size-fits-all” protocols or restrictive “cleanses” that leave you depleted. Instead, I combine the best of evidence-based nutrition science with the ancient wisdom of traditional herbal medicine. My work is grounded in Functional Medicine, which means we aren’t just chasing symptoms; we are investigating the root cause.

While I have deep specialized training in functional weight loss and mindful eating, my clinical practice covers the full spectrum of women’s health. I partner with clients to navigate:

  • Mental Health Nutrition: Supporting the body’s biochemistry to help manage anxiety, depression, and burnout.
  • Metabolic Health: Blood sugar regulation, insulin resistance, and thyroid health.
  • Hormonal Balance: Navigating the shifts of the childbearing years, postpartum depletion, and the transition into perimenopause.
  • Digestive Wellness: Addressing bloating, GI distress, and the gut-brain connection.

The Credentials Behind the Care

My path to this work was born out of my own necessity. At 18, I was struggling with my own cycle of hormonal imbalances, cystic acne, and mental health challenges. Conventional medicine offered very few answers, so I took my health into my own hands. That transformation was so profound that I dedicated my life to helping other women find that same clarity.

I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition from Sonoran University of Health Sciences and completed a rigorous three-year Clinical Herbalism Apprenticeship at the CommonWealth Holistic Herbalism Center. To ensure I’m providing the highest level of care for the behavioral side of health, I also became a Certified Functional Weight Loss Consultant through the American Academy of Functional Health and a Certified Mindful Eating Practitioner through the Mindful Eating Training Institute.

I am a Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) in Massachusetts and have completed over 1,000 supervised hours to earn my Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS®) board certification.

A Grounded Partnership

I believe that nutrition is never about perfection. In my practice, we focus on making progress rather than chasing an impossible standard, because I understand firsthand that life gets messy. You deserve compassionate, clinical care that acknowledges the reality of your daily life- not a rigid protocol that sets you up for failure.

When I’m not working with clients, I’m usually with my husband and two children- outside in nature, going for walks, swimming, weaving baskets, or in the kitchen. Leading by example for my family is my greatest joy, and helping you do the same for yours is my professional mission.
